Florida Department of Law Enforcement
HomeCommunications Section
The Capitol Police Communications Section operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and is responsible for receiving, coordinating, and initiating all requests for police and security services within the Capitol Complex and the Capitol Circle Office Center (CCOC).
Duty officers assigned to the Communications Center continuously monitor a wide range of security systems, including surveillance and camera networks, fire and intrusion alarm systems, and electronic access control systems for the Capitol Building, the Holland Building, the Pepper Building, and facilities within the CCOC.
The Communications Center also provides uninterrupted radio and data communications support to duty officers, law enforcement personnel, and security officers during their patrol operations. In addition, the Center maintains access to FCIC/NCIC systems to support investigative and operational needs.
Communications duty officers manage several hundred calls each day from citizens and state employees seeking information, reporting concerns, or requesting assistance. Their role is essential to maintaining the safety, security, and operational continuity of the Capitol Complex and surrounding state facilities.
