Newsroom

The FDLE Office of Public Information is committed to ensuring clear, coordinated, and effective communication of the Department’s messages to both the media and the public. As part of our responsibilities, we manage a wide range of media inquiries, including requests for public records, statements, and interviews. We work collaboratively with media partners to ensure that information shared is accurate, timely, and relevant, providing a trustworthy source of updates on FDLE initiatives and public safety matters.

Our team plays a vital role in supporting and enhancing public safety across Florida. We develop and implement statewide public awareness and safety campaigns designed to educate communities on critical issues impacting Floridians. We also manage FDLE’s brand identity, ensuring consistency, professionalism, and clarity across all communications and platforms.

In addition to media relations and branding, our office oversees all FDLE social media channels and produces press releases that keep the public informed about the Department’s operations, investigations, and public safety efforts.

Social Media

FDLE’s social media accounts are administered by the PIOs. Posts include AMBER, Missing Child and Blue Alerts, unsolved case highlights, safety tips, FDLE job opportunities and news releases. Following FDLE on Facebook, X @fdlepio and/or Instagram is one of the best ways to stay up-to-date on current alerts and public safety notices. We encourage viewers to share our social media posts.

We welcome your comments. FDLE reserves the right to remove submissions containing vulgar language, personal attacks or offensive comments that target or disparage any ethnic, racial, sexual orientation or religious group. FDLE also deletes spam, posts that advocate illegal activity or promote particular services, products or political organizations. Concerns regarding comments on Facebook, X @fdlepio and Instagram should be directed to FDLE’s PIOs.

Emergency requests and public records requests cannot be processed through social media sites. Accounts are not monitored 24/7.
