The Office of Executive Investigations (OEI) conducts complex investigations into allegations of criminal activity by public officials, investigations ordered by the Governor and complaints alleging election law violations. OEI also conducts background investigations on FDLE members and various background checks for state government agencies. OEI is comprised of three units:

• Public Corruption Unit;
• Election Crime Unit; and
• Background Investigations Unit.
