Crime Scene

Crime SceneOur mission is to provide technical assistance to local law enforcement agencies in the areas of crime scene processing and forensic science. Crime laboratory analysts and technologists are on-call 24/7 and respond to requests for examination of major crime scenes. A critical part of a criminal investigation is the documentation, collection, and preservation of physical evidence. This evidence is later analyzed at the crime laboratory. Services offered include: photography, video recording, measuring, sketching, scene 3D laser scanning, general evidence collection, bullet path and bloodstain pattern documentation. Specialized detection and collection techniques are utilized for the detection and recovery of latent prints, shoe tracks, biological fluids, embedded projectiles, buried bodies, scattered surface skeletal remains and entomological evidence. If needed by a court of law, an analyst may present their findings to a jury during a criminal trial.
