Biology/DNA

BiologyOur mission is to examine biological evidence collected from crime scenes in order to identify individuals for investigative purposes. DNA is found in every cell of the body, excluding red blood cells, and is often left behind at crime scenes through blood, semen, saliva, skin cells, hairs and tissues. Our analysts perform STR DNA analysis which are short segments of repetitive DNA that vary between people with the exception of identical twins.Biology Services Once a crime scene DNA profile is obtained, known standards are submitted for comparisons. It is these comparisons that can link a person to the DNA found at the crime scene or eliminate them as being a source of the DNA. If needed by a court of law, an analyst may present their findings to a jury during a criminal trial.
