Criminal Justice Professionalism Division

Introduction
 

The purpose of the Criminal Justice Professionalism Division is to promote and facilitate the competency and professional conduct of criminal justice officers through a partnership with criminal justice agencies in providing entry-level and in-service officer training, criminal justice leadership development and executive training, and maintaining disciplinary procedures.

The Professionalism Division provides staff support to the Criminal Justice Standards & Training Commission, the Florida Medical Examiners Commission and the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation.

Additionally, the Division is responsible for the Criminal Justice Executive Institute, the Leadership Center, the Florida Alcohol Testing Program, training of sworn FDLE personnel, the Florida D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) Program, and more.

Florida Department of Law Enforcement Priorities

FDLE is composed of five areas: Executive Direction and Business Support, Criminal Investigations and Forensic Science, Criminal Justice Information, Criminal Justice Professionalism and Florida Capitol Police. FDLE’s duties, responsibilities and procedures are mandated through Chapter 943, FS, and Chapter 11, FAC.
