Office of Executive Investigations

The Office of Executive Investigations (OEI) conducts complex investigations into allegations of criminal activity by public officials, investigations ordered by the Governor and complaints alleging election law violations. OEI also reviews and investigates complaints and allegations against agency employees, coordinates complaints and correspondences regarding FDLE and our services, and conducts background checks for state government agencies. OEI is comprised of five units: 

 
  • Public Corruption Unit;
  • Election Crime Unit;
  • Professional Standards Unit; 
  • Customer Service Unit; and 
  • Background Investigations Unit.

Florida Department of Law Enforcement Priorities

FDLE is composed of five areas: Executive Direction and Business Support, Criminal Investigations and Forensic Science, Criminal Justice Information, Criminal Justice Professionalism and Florida Capitol Police. FDLE’s duties, responsibilities and procedures are mandated through Chapter 943, FS, and Chapter 11, FAC.
