FDLE arrests 2 for cocaine trafficking

SARASOTA, Fla. – The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) announces the arrests of Sarasota laborer Juan Jesus Lopez, 25, and Palmetto handyman Clayton Dewayne Mann, 31. Each man is charged with cocaine trafficking. Lopez is also charged with amphetamine trafficking and possession of a concealed firearm while committing a felony. Mann is also charged with methamphetamine trafficking.
 
FDLE initiated two drug trafficking investigations in January and identified Mann and Lopez as suspected drug dealers.
 
Agents conducted controlled drug buys with the suspects and each man was witnessed selling the cocaine and illegal drugs. Lopez was arrested on April 24, and Mann was arrested on April 25. Both men were taken into custody without incident.
 
Lopez and Mann were booked into the Sarasota County Jail. The cases will be prosecuted by the Office of the State Attorney, 12th Judicial Circuit.
 
The Sarasota Sheriff’s Office assisted. FDLE’s investigation remains active.
