Meet Hunter, FDLE Capitol Police’s new K-9, explosives detective

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – FDLE Capitol Police’s newest police dog, Hunter, is providing a demonstration at the Florida Capitol on Monday. Hunter is an explosives detective K-9.
 
His handler is Capitol Police Officer Getavius Zachary. Hunter is certified to detect numerous explosive compounds. To maintain a safe and secure environment for elected officials, state employees and visitors to the Capitol Complex, Hunter and Officer Zachary conduct vehicle checks at the Capitol, and check packages being brought into the Capitol Complex. With the other Capitol Police K-9 Teams, they participate in the North Florida Domestic Security Task Force and assist federal, state and local agencies when requested.
