OLD TOWN, Fla. – Demiah Appling, the 14-year-old Old Town teen reported missing in mid-October, has yet to be found.

Dixie County Sheriff Darby Butler said the community has shown tremendous support.

“We want to thank the community for your outpouring of support and countless tips in efforts to bring Demiah home,” said Sheriff Butler. “We ask for your continued assistance until she is found,” he added.

Sheriff Butler encouraged the community to call the department’s hotline at (877) 464-6982 with any information.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) continues to assist in the investigation. FDLE issued a Missing Child Alert (MCA) for Appling on Nov. 3.

The Florida MCA was established in 2003 to provide law enforcement with a tool to quickly disseminate information when a child is missing and believed to be in life-threatening danger, but there is no indication that the child has been abducted.
