FDLE arrests former child protective investigator

TALLAHASEE, Fla. - The Florida Department of Law Enforcement arrested former Department of Children and Families child protective investigator Brittanee Sharmayne Carter, 27, for two counts of falsifying records. The DCF Office of Inspector General referred the case to FDLE and assisted in the investigation.
 
According to Carter’s case notes, she conducted two visits to local elementary schools to check on children who were part of her caseload. However, the investigation found she did not make the visits. 
 
Carter was arrested on Thursday and booked into the Leon County Jail.  The Office of the State Attorney, 2nd Judicial Circuit will prosecute the case.
