ORLANDO, Fla. – With the holiday spirit in full swing, employees with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement’s Orlando Regional Operations Center (OROC) will be delivering toys today to Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children.

Dozens of toys, games and general supplies, collected during OROC’s annual drive, will be donated to help the hospital serve patients and their families.

“Our team really enjoys the opportunity to spread a little cheer to children at Arnold Palmer during the holiday season,” said Danny Banks, OROC’s Special Agent in Charge. “We are able to help patients and their families as well as acknowledge the spirit of the holiday through giving.”

A Special Agent Supervisor, whose daughter has been a patient at Arnold Palmer, suggested giving the collected toys to the hospital. The SAS said he remembers what it is like to spend the holidays at the bedside of a child in the hospital and wanted to help other families.

All of the items collected at OROC must meet standards set by the hospital, including new and unwrapped toys and games that can only be played with in bed. In addition, OROC collected toiletries and clothing for families who may spend part of their holiday at Arnold Palmer.

The toys will be delivered to a playroom area of the hospital for distribution.
