FDLE arrests suspect in Alberta Harris homicide

 
FORT MYERS, Fla.-FDLE agents and detectives with the Fort Myers Police Department yesterday arrested Eugene Johnson, 61, for the murder of Alberta Harris. Johnson has been charged with second degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
 
Harris went missing from her Fort Myers residence on April 9, 2016 and was reported missing by family members on April 10, 2016. On April 20, Harris’ body was located in a remote and wooded area of Hendry County. It was determined that her death was a homicide.
 
Johnson was booked into the Hendry County Jail on $500,000 bond. This case will be prosecuted by the Office of the State Attorney, 20th Judicial Circuit.
