Hendry County remains identified as missing person Alberta Harris

 
FORT MYERS, Fla. – FDLE agents confirmed the identity of remains found in Hendry County as those of missing person Alberta Harris, 50. The 20th Circuit Medical Examiner’s Office identified the remains. Harris was listed as a missing person by Fort Myers Police Department and was last seen on April 9, 2016.  Agents with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement responded to a crime scene call out after a body was found in Hendry County, Florida on Wednesday, April 20.
 
The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of Alberta Harris remains active and details are not being released at this time.
 
FDLE and Fort Myers Police Department are investigating this death as a homicide at the request of Hendry County Sheriff’s Office.
