Steinhatchee husband and wife arrested for attempted murder

STEINHATCHEE, Fla. - The Taylor County Sheriff’s Office, with assistance from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, arrested George William “Billy” Painter IV, 32, and his wife Pamela Ann Painter, 29, on one count each of attempted felony murder, armed robbery, and theft of a controlled substance.  Billy Painter, already in Taylor County Jail on an unrelated charge, was served with an arrest warrant on the new charges.  Pamela Painter was arrested at her home, 913 3rd Street West, Steinhatchee, Fla., without incident around noon today and was booked into the Taylor County Jail. 
 
The investigation shows that around 4:50 a.m. on March 1, 2015, Billy Painter attacked 66-year- old Paul Pridgeon by hitting him on the head with a tire iron numerous times. Pridgeon was attacked at his home.  While Billy Painter attacked Pridgeon, Pamela Painter stole between 2 to 3 grams of methamphetamine drugs from Pridgeon. 
 
The investigation will be prosecuted by the Office of the State Attorney, 3rd Judicial Circuit.
The Taylor County Sheriff’s Office, with assistance from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, investigated the case.
