Orlando officer arrested for felony battery on arrestee

ORLANDO, Fla. – Florida Department of Law Enforcement Special Agents today arrested Orlando Police Department Officer Peter Delio, 30, on one count of felony battery.

In December 2014, OPD requested FDLE investigate Officer Delio’s use of force during an August 2014 arrest. During the course of the investigation, FDLE agents obtained video surveillance which showed Delio striking the arrestee in the abdomen with his knee while the arrestee was handcuffed.

Delio turned himself in this morning to the Orange County Jail and was released on $2,500 bond.  This case will be prosecuted by the Office of the State Attorney, 9th Judicial Circuit.
