Chief DeLeo to serve on Florida’s Domestic Security Oversight Council

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Florida Department of Law Enforcement Commissioner Gerald Bailey announced that Tallahassee Police Chief Michael DeLeo will serve as a voting member of Florida’s Domestic Security Oversight Council.  On the Council, DeLeo will represent the Florida Domestic Security Intelligence Committee.  DeLeo is the chairman of that committee.

“I am humbled and excited by this opportunity to serve our State. As a voting member my aim will be to ensure the safety of Florida while protecting the rights of our citizens,” said Tallahassee Police Chief Michael DeLeo.
 
“Chief DeLeo's experience and expertise will be an asset to the Council. I look forward to working with him in this new role,” said FDLE Commissioner Gerald Bailey. 

DeLeo was appointed Tallahassee Police Chief in December 2013 and is a member of Florida’s Advisory Group for Law Enforcement Basic Recruit Training.   

The Domestic Security Oversight Council is an executive policy advisory group chaired by Commissioner Gerald Bailey and vice-chaired by Florida Director of Emergency Management Bryan W. Koon.  The Council advises Florida’s seven Regional Domestic Security Task Forces and is an integral part of Florida’s domestic security process.
