FDLE’s Florida Law Enforcement Analyst Academy wins national award

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Florida Department of Law Enforcement’s Florida Law Enforcement Analyst Academy is being recognized by the International Association of Law Enforcement Intelligence Analysts for its significant advancement of intelligence analysis.

Analysts learn criminal and intelligence skills used by law enforcement and other emergency responders to successfully prevent crime and conduct complex investigations.

FDLE developed the Florida Law Enforcement Analyst Academy in 2003 to provide uniform training for law enforcement analysis.  It was the first academy of its kind in the nation. More than 500 analysts representing state, local, military, private sector and out-of-state agencies have been trained.

FDLE will be presented with a professional service award tonight during the 2014 IALEIA/LEIU (Association of Law Enforcement Intelligence Units) Training Event in Atlanta, Ga.
