For Immediate Release

May 1, 2014

ORLANDO, Fla. - The Florida Department of Law Enforcement Orlando Regional Operations Center arrested Angel Gabriel Reyes, 22, on charges of organized scheme to defraud, grand theft and unlicensed real estate activity.  Special Agents believe Reyes created the company REC East, LLC to scam timeshare owners.

FDLE began its investigation in October 2013 after receiving information from the Kissimmee Police Department.  The investigation shows Reyes contacted timeshare owners offering to sell their timeshares for an up-front fee.  After the fees were collected, the sales never occurred.  Agents identified more than 50 victims throughout the United States that Reyes allegedly defrauded of more than $244,000.

Reyes was arrested this morning and booked into the Orange County Jail on $34,000 bond.  The case will be prosecuted by the Office of the State Attorney, 9th Judicial Circuit.
