Ruskin man re-arrested for online enticement of a child

Florida Department of Law Enforcement Tampa Bay Regional Operations Center cyber agents today re-arrested Brandon Tim Shinawongse, 21, for two counts of online enticement of a child, one count of promotion of the sexual performance of a child and the transmission of harmful material to a minor.

In December 2013, the Lake County Sheriff's Office received a complaint that an adult had communicated extensively with a 13-year-old child utilizing the internet. LCSO requested FDLE assistance due to the multi-jurisdictional aspect of this investigation.  On Dec. 19, 2013, FDLE agents served a search warrant at Shinawongse’s residence, 15404 Dakota Sky Place, Ruskin, Fla.  Videos in his possession depicted the sexual exploitation of children as young as toddlers.  He was arrested and charged with online enticement of a child, attempted promotion of the sexual performance of a child, transmission of child pornography, and possession of child pornography.  Shinawongse was released on bond.

Computer forensic evidence led to the identification of an additional 15-year-old victim in Hillsborough County who Shinawongse had initially contacted in December.  FDLE agents determined that the suspect re-contacted the victim in March, after he was out on bond.  Based on that, FDLE obtained an arrest warrant for Shinawongse who was booked into the Hillsborough County Jail. This case is being prosecuted by the Office of the Statewide Prosecutor.
