FDLE arrests Jacksonville man for capital sexual battery

 
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement Tampa Bay Regional Operations Center, with assistance from the FDLE Jacksonville Regional Operations Center, yesterday arrested Michael Scott Carter, 42, of Jacksonville, Fla. on one count of capital sexual battery, victim less than 12 years of age. 
 
FDLE agents began investigating Carter in late 2013 after receiving information regarding the sexual battery of a child.  Investigators believe the crime occurred while Carter lived in Punta Gorda, Fla.   
 
Carter was booked into the Duval County Jail and is being held on no bond.  This case will be prosecuted by the Office of the State Attorney, 20th Judicial Circuit.
 
This was a joint investigation between the FDLE Tampa Bay Regional Operations Center Violent Crime Squad and Department of Homeland Security.  This investigation is ongoing.
