FY22-23 Care for Retired Police Dogs (CRPD)

Overview
The Care for Retired Police Dogs (CRPD) Program, created under Section 943.69, Florida Statutes, provides funding to handlers/adopters of canines that retired from service at a law enforcement or correctional agency. 

Eligibility
Only nonprofit organizations meeting each of the following criteria are eligible to apply: 

 

  • be dedicated to the protection and care of retired police canines; 
  • possess current 501(c)(3) status;
  • maintained 501(c)(3) for five or more year;
  • agree to be subject to review and audit for accountability of state funds; 
  • possess ability to effectively disseminate information; AND
  • possess ability to assit handlers/adopters of retired police canines.


Awards
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) will issue ONE award from this solicitation.

Project Period
Awards will be for a 12-month period beginning July 1, 2022 and ending June 30, 2023.
