First Aid Instructor Update Course
The Specialized Instructor Update Course outlines the changes made to BRT First Aid for Criminal Justice Officers Course, instructor evaluations, forms, exercises, and provides a general refresher for first aid instructors.
To reactivate your certification: All current first aid instructors must complete this 4-hour online course before teaching the new curriculum to BRT students and instructors. Current first aid instructors who did not complete this training by June 30, 2024 must meet the following requirements to reactivate their certification:
- Complete the First Aid Instructor Update Course.
- Demonstrate the first aid proficiency skills following Rule 11B-35.0024, F.A.C.
- Complete continuing education or training approved by the training center director, agency administrator, or designee.
- Complete a high-liability internship documented on the Instructor Competency Checklist, Form CJSTC-81, that is supervised by an instructor who is certified in the updated first aid course.
For this course, only:The FDLE Training Center will enter credit for this training course into the Automated Training Management System (ATMS) under the FDLE training center identifier. Your local CJSTC training center is
not required to enter anything into ATMS for this course. Since it is an online course, all entries into ATMS will be handled by the FDLE Training Center for all instructors
