Law Enforcement Officer

Requirements - Must Have Completed One of the Following:
  • Successfully completed a Florida Law Enforcement Academy and received a passing score on the State of Florida Law Enforcement Certification Examination, and be eligible to receive law enforcement certification.
  • Currently attending a law enforcement academy, has military experience or an out-of-state law enforcement officer eligible for equivalency of training. Applicants meeting this requirement must successfully complete the academy or equivalency of training requirements and successfully pass the State of Florida Law Enforcement Officer examination by the closing date of the requisition.
  • Successfully completed the Florida Equivalency of Training (CJSTC 76) and received a passing score on the State of Florida Law Enforcement Certification Examination, and be eligible to receive law enforcement certification.   • U.S. Citizen
  • At Least 19 Years of Age
  • Valid Driver License
  • High School Graduate / G.E.D.
  • Good Moral Character

Employment Process
NOTE: When a vacancy occurs for the Law Enforcement Officer pool position that has been advertised, the duration of the employment process could take approximately two to six months once an application is received. Law Enforcement Officer pool positions are advertised in the People First System bi-annually.
