The NICS Act Record Improvement Program (NARIP) provides to ensure the accuracy and completeness of records in the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS). The program focuses on filling gaps related to the firearms check process. Like the NCHIP program, Criminal Justice Grants (CJG) serves as the designated pass-through entity and administers funds approved through the Florida Criminal Justice and Juvenile Justice Information System (CJJIS) Council’s Federal Funding Workgroup (FFWG) on an annual basis.
FDLE is composed of five areas: Executive Direction and Business Support, Criminal Investigations and Forensic Science, Criminal Justice Information, Criminal Justice Professionalism and Florida Capitol Police.
