OPB is divided between two units - the Budget Management Unit and the FDLE Grants Unit. The Business Support Budget Management Unit is responsible for the management of agency resources through oversight of the agency's operating budget. The FDLE Grants Unit is responsible for managing FDLE's grant funds awarded to FDLE's divisions, as well as administering State Financial Assistance to local agencies related to various projects.
The Office of Planning and Budgeting aids recipients in managing their awards. OPB provides assistance during the application and project development phase to ensure the proposed project is allowable under the state financial assistance program. OPB also serves recipients post-award by sending reminders of upcoming deadlines and assisting with the submission of required reports.
