Office of Statewide Investigative Services

The Office of Statewide Investigative Services (OSIS) was created by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement to ensure consistency in training, program implementation, procedures and enforcement. The OSIS Office of Policy Development and Planning facilitates the administration of the statewide investigative, forensic and domestic security services through strategic planning, policy development and implementation and monitoring of program responsibilities. In addition, OSIS members host training and special events, such as Florida Missing Children’s Day

The Special Agent in Charge of the Office of Statewide Investigative Services also serves as the state’s Homeland Security Advisor (HSA) and works closely with the Office of Statewide Intelligence, the Office of Domestic Security and the Domestic Security Oversight Council in the development and implementation of the state plan to prepare, prevent, protect, mitigate, respond and recover in the event of a terrorist attack.

Florida Department of Law Enforcement Priorities

FDLE is composed of five areas: Executive Direction and Business Support, Criminal Investigations and Forensic Science, Criminal Justice Information, Criminal Justice Professionalism and Florida Capitol Police. FDLE’s duties, responsibilities and procedures are mandated through Chapter 943, FS, and Chapter 11, FAC.
