The statute mandates that all law enforcement officers complete one-time training on identifying and investigating elder abuse and neglect.
Certified officers may be awarded one hour of training that can be applied toward the 40 hour mandatory retraining requirement.
Pursuant to Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission Technical Memorandum 2008-08, an officer who completes, or has completed, any of the programs or courses listed below at a Commission-certified training school, regardless of when the course was taken, will have met the requirement for Elder Abuse Investigations training.

The email can be printed and submitted to your agency’s designated training coordinator. The training coordinator may then enter the record into the Automated Training Management System (ATMS) and generate an official certificate of completion using the Online Training Certificate System (OTCS).
