Agencies are listed alphabetically. When applicable, additional tabs are created to compare data for law enforcement, correctional, and concurrent officers.
Police Departments:
Police Departments with a definable jurisdiction are listed within this category.
There are a few offices that cross county lines.
Some of the benefits or special units may only apply to one location.
Sheriff’s Offices:
With a few exceptions, the basic benefits are the same within a Sheriff’s Office.
State Agencies - Law Enforcement (excludes universities) :
Agencies with jurisdictions covering the entire state or multiple counties are classified as "State Agencies".
They may have several facilities with headquarters located in Leon County (Tallahassee) or another location. In these situations, officer demographics and benefits are categorized as a single entity.
Some of the benefits or special units may apply only to one location.
Some specific state agencies provide cost of living adjustments (i.e. Miami-Dade County) above the listed minimum.
Schools, Universities & Ports:
School, University, and Port police departments are separated and classified according to the category "Schools & Ports".
