NICS Act Record Improvement Program (NARIP)

The NICS Act Record Improvement Program (NARIP) provides to ensure the accuracy and completeness of records in the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS). The program focuses on filling gaps related to the firearms check process. Like the NCHIP program, OCJG serves as the designated pass-through entity and administers funds approved through the Florida Criminal Justice and Juvenile Justice Information System (CJJIS) Council’s Federal Funding Workgroup (FFWG) on an annual basis.
