The Florida Fusion Center

Florida Fusion Center

Mission Statement

The mission of the Florida Fusion Center is to protect citizens, visitors, resources, and critical infrastructure of Florida by enhancing information sharing, intelligence, capabilities, and preparedness operations for all local, state, and federal agencies in accordance with Florida’s Domestic Security Strategy.

What is a Fusion Center?

A fusion center is a collaborative effort of state, local, tribal territorial and federal agencies working in partnership to share resources, expertise, and/or information to better identify, detect, prevent, apprehend and respond to threats, crimes and terrorist activity utilizing an all crimes/all hazards approach. The Florida Fusion Center (FFC) headquartered in Tallahassee, Florida, is the state’s designated fusion center. The FFC is part of the National Network of Fusion Centers, which is comprised of 79 fusion centers and their respective nodes from across the country. The National Network works collaboratively across jurisdictions and disciplines to share information that protects the nation from crimes and terrorist activity.

Florida Fusion Center

The Florida Fusion Center, also known as FFC, headquartered in Tallahassee, Florida began operations in 2007 and was designated as the head of the Network of Florida Fusion Centers in 2008 by the Governor. The Network of Florida Fusion Centers includes two recognized fusion centers and five regional fusion centers, to include three certified nodes of the FFC.

The Network of Florida Fusion Centers works together statewide on gathering, processing, analyzing, and disseminating of terrorism, law enforcement, and homeland security information. The focus of these regional centers may vary slightly from the FFC, but the flow of information between these centers are coordinated to serve the needs of all Floridians.
