May 12, 2026
Raceland, La. – The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) arrested Eddie Filce, 62, of Raceland, on two counts of lewd and lascivious exhibition, five counts of transmission of material harmful to minors, five counts of harmful communication with a minor, and one count of use of a computer to solicit certain illegal acts, all felony charges. The arrest is a result of FDLE’s statewide initiative to locate and arrest criminals targeting children and sharing files depicting the sexual abuse of children.
FDLE’s investigation began in early April, when agents conducted an undercover online chat operation. During the operation, agents identified an adult male who was sending explicit messages, images, and videos to an undercover agent posing as a juvenile. Investigators later identified the suspect as Filce, a human resources employee with the Board of Regents for Higher Education.
An arrest warrant was obtained for Filce. On May 5, the Louisiana State Police, in cooperation with FDLE’s investigation, arrested Filce. He was booked in the Terrebonne Parish Jail on a $85,000 bond, awaiting extradition.
The case is being prosecuted by Attorney General James Uthmeier’s Office of Statewide Prosecution.
The investigation remains active. Additional charges may be forthcoming.
