FDLE Task Force Arrests Miami Man for Drug Trafficking

SWEETWATER, Fla. – The Florida Department of Law Enforcement’s (FDLE) South Florida State Assistance for Fentanyl Eradication (S.A.F.E.) Task Force arrested Eddie Antonio Muniz, 41, of Doral, on two counts of trafficking in fentanyl and one count each of armed fentanyl trafficking, possession of fentanyl with intent to sell within 1,000 feet of a school, possession of cocaine with intent to sell within 1,000 feet of a school and unlawful use of a two-way communication device. This arrest is a result of a S.A.F.E. investigation.
The investigation began in Feb. 2025 when the South Florida S.A.F.E. Task Force received information that Muniz was trafficking methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA) laced with fentanyl within Miami-Dade County.
During this time, investigators observed Muniz conduct several drug transactions. On March 26, FDLE and task force agents, with the assistance of Homeland Security Investigations and the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives served a search warrant at Muniz’s residence and seized more than 15 grams of fentanyl-laced MDMA and a firearm. Muniz was arrested on multiple charges and transported to the Turner Guilford Knight (TGK) Detention Center in West Miami-Dade.
The Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office of the 11th Judicial Circuit is prosecuting the case.
The investigation remains active.
The South Florida S.A.F.E. Task Force consists of agents and detectives with FDLE, Doral Police Department, Florida International University Police Department, Hialeah Police Department, Medley Police Department, Miami Police Department, Miami Springs Police Department and Sweetwater Police Department.
