January 8, 2026
TALLAHASSEE Fla. – The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) arrested Troy Hartmann, 56, of Tallahassee, on 1 count each: online solicitation of a minor, harmful communication with a minor, transmitting harmful material to a minor, and unlawful use of a two-way communication device. At the time of his arrest, Hartmann worked as a high school basketball coach in Leon County. None of Hartmann’s charges relate to a current or former student.

Hartmann’s charges are based on his communications with the agent acting in an undercover capacity.

Hartmann was taken into custody on January 7 and booked at the Leon County Jail. This case will be prosecuted by the State Attorney’s Office. 2nd Judicial Circuit.
This investigation remains active and no additional information is available at this time.
