FDLE arrests Leesburg man for possession of child sexual abuse material

For Immediate Release

Feb. 3, 2026

LEESBURG, Fla. – The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) arrested Devon James Huart, 20, of Leesburg, on 10 counts of possession of child sexual abuse material. The arrest is part of FDLE’s statewide initiative to identify and apprehend offenders who target children and share files depicting child sexual abuse.

FDLE initiated the investigation on Jan. 23, 2026, after agents received a cybertip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). The tip reported that someone had uploaded, viewed, and stored child sexual abuse material through an instant‑messaging app. Agents later identified Huart as the user of that account.

On Jan. 30, 2026, FDLE Cybercrime Task Force agents and the FDLE Special Operations Team served a search warrant at Huart’s residence and seized multiple electronic devices. A preliminary digital forensic analysis on his cellphone found evidence of child sexual abuse material.

Huart was taken into custody and transported to the Lake County Jail. The Lake County Sheriff’s Office assisted with the arrest.

The case is being prosecuted by Attorney General James Uthmeier’s Office of Statewide Prosecution.

The investigation remains active. Additional charges may be forthcoming pending further forensic analysis.
