FDLE arrests Port Richey man for possession of child sexual abuse materials

For Immediate Release

April 6, 2026

PORT RICHEY, Fla. – The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) arrested Tyler Hooks, 33, of Port Richey, on 38 counts of possession of child sexual abuse materials. This arrest is a result of FDLE’s statewide initiative to locate and arrest criminals targeting children and sharing files depicting the sexual abuse of children.

The investigation began in October 2025 when FDLE agents discovered that an internet service user had sent child sexual abuse materials files via a peer-to-peer network. Further investigation identified the address as Hook’s residence.

On Oct. 30, 2025, FDLE agents served a search warrant at Hook’s residence and seized several electronic devices for further forensic examination. One of the devices was forensically examined and additional child sexual abuse materials files were identified. Further examination identified Hooks as the owner of the device.

On April 1, Hooks was arrested by FDLE agents and transported to Pasco County Jail. He is being held on a $380,000 bond.

The case will be prosecuted by the Office of Statewide Prosecution.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.
