FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
April 9, 2026
CAPE CORAL, Fla. – The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) arrested Robert Carrion, 42, of Cape Coral, on 25 counts of possession of child sexual abuse material. This arrest is the result of FDLE’s statewide initiative to locate and arrest criminals targeting children and sharing files depicting the sexual abuse of children.
FDLE’s investigation began on March 2 when agents conducted an investigation of a peer-to-peer file-sharing network. Investigators identified a device that was downloading files depicting the sexual abuse of children. The investigation revealed that the device belonged to Carrion.
On March 25, FDLE agents, with the assistance of the Cape Coral Police Department (CCPD) and Homeland Security Investigations, served a search warrant at Carrion’s residence. During the search warrant, multiple devices were seized for further digital forensic analysis. The analysis identified hundreds of files depicting the sexual abuse of children.
On April 8, FDLE agents, along with CCPD, arrested Carrion and transported him to the Lee County Jail.
The Attorney Generals’ Office of Statewide Prosecution is prosecuting the case.
The investigation remains active.
