FDLE arrests Hialeah man for illegal drug trafficking, possession

HIALEAH, Fla. – The Florida Department of Law Enforcement’s (FDLE) State Assistance for Fentanyl Eradication (S.A.F.E.) Task Force arrested Eddie Junior Calle, 36, of Hialeah, on one count each of trafficking in oxycodone, possession of crystal methamphetamine, possession of ketamine, possession of alprazolam and possession of marijuana. Additionally, Calle faces two counts of trafficking in methamphetamine and four counts of possession of drug paraphernalia. This arrest is a result of a S.A.F.E.-funded investigation.

 

FDLE’s investigation began in August 2025 when the South Florida S.A.F.E. Task Force received information about an individual distributing fentanyl-laced methamphetamine within the city of Hialeah. FDLE agents conducted undercover operations and uncovered that Calle was selling and purchasing narcotics in Hialeah and Miami Springs.

 

On October 28, S.A.F.E. Task Force agents, with assistance from the Hialeah Police Department, took Calle into custody and conducted a search warrant of his residence. Throughout the investigation, agents seized a combined 116.5 grams of methamphetamine, crystal methamphetamine, oxycodone, alprazolam and marijuana.

 

Calle was arrested and transported to the Turner Guilford Knight Detention Center.

 

The Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office is prosecuting the case.

 

The investigation remains active and ongoing.

 

The South Florida S.A.F.E. Task Force consists of agents and detectives with the FDLE, Doral Police Department, Florida International University Police Department, Hialeah Police Department, Medley Police Department, Miami Police Department and Sweetwater Police Department.
