SATELLITE BEACH, Fla. – The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) arrested Luke William Martineac, 38, of Satellite Beach, on 20 counts of possession of child sexual abuse material and 372 counts of promoting sexual performance by a child. The arrest is the result of FDLE’s statewide initiative to locate and arrest criminals targeting children and sharing files depicting the sexual abuse of children.
FDLE’s investigation began on August 25 when agents initiated an online investigation on an individual sharing and downloading digital files depicting the sexual abuse of children from the internet. Further investigation identified Martineac as the user downloading the files and his residence in Satellite Beach where the IP address was used.
On Oct. 15, FDLE agents served a search warrant at Martineac’s residence and seized multiple electronic devices. Subsequent forensic analysis of the devices located over 4,000 digital images and video files depicting the sexual abuse of children, some as young as 5 years old.
On Dec. 18, FDLE agents and the Special Operations Team served a warrant for his arrest. Martineac was arrested without incident and transported to the Brevard County Jail. Satellite Beach Police Department assisted with arrest.
The State Attorney’s Office for the 18th Judicial Circuit is prosecuting the case.
The investigation remains active.
