Active Hearing Protection Program

During the 2026–27 legislative session, $4,000,000 was appropriated to Starkey Laboratories to provide active hearing protection for Florida law enforcement officers. Only Sheriff’s Offices are eligible to apply for this funding, and the equipment will be issued for use by sworn personnel throughout the state.

These devices are designed to reduce harmful noise exposure while preserving situational awareness in the field.

Devices will be shipped directly to eligible agencies on a first-come, first-served basis, as determined by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE).
