ALTAMONTE, Fla.  – The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) arrested Donald Eugene Waterman, 62, of Altamonte, on six felony counts of possession of child sexual abuse material. The arrest is the result of FDLE’s statewide initiative to locate and arrest criminals targeting children and sharing files depicting the sexual abuse of children.

FDLE’s investigation began on April 7 when agents received a cybertip from the National Center for Missing and Endangered Children (NCMEC) about an individual downloading digital files depicting the sexual abuse of children from the internet. The investigation identified Waterman as the user downloading the files.

On June 10, FDLE agents served a search warrant at Waterman’s residence and seized multiple electronic devices. Subsequent forensic analysis of the devices located multiple files depicting the sexual abuse of children, some as young as 4 years old.

Waterman was arrested without incident and transported to the Seminole County Jail. Attorney General James Uthmeier’s Office of Statewide Prosecution is prosecuting the case.

FDLE’s investigation remains active.
