FDLE arrests Orlando man for trafficking fentanyl

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) arrested Daniel Cuevas, 47, of Orlando, on one count of trafficking 28 grams or more of fentanyl.
 
The investigation began in July 2025 when FDLE Fort Myers agents received information that a high-level member of a Mexican cartel, later identified as Cuevas, was selling large quantities of methamphetamine and fentanyl in the Orlando area.
 
On Aug. 7, FDLE agents conducted a controlled operation and seized more than 4.4 pounds of fentanyl from Cuevas.
 
Cuevas was arrested by agents with the FDLE Special Operations Team and was transported to Orange County Jail.
 
Attorney General James Uthmeier’s Office of Statewide Prosecution is prosecuting the case.
 
The investigation remains active.
