EUSTIS, Fla. – The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) arrested Alexander James Andrews, 28, of Eustis, on four counts for possession of child sexual abuse material. The Eustis Police Department and the Department of Homeland Security Investigations assisted in the case.

The investigation began on June 3 by the FDLE Orlando Cyber Crime Squad when agents identified an internet user sharing files that depicted the sexual abuse of child.  Through the investigative process, Andrews’ residence was identified as the origin of the shared files.

FDLE agents yesterday conducted a search of Andrews’ home and seized his cell phone. A preliminary forensic review located four digital files depicting the sexual abuse of children, some as young as 6 years old.

Andrews was booked into Lake County Jail yesterday and is being held without bond. The case will be prosecuted by the Office of the State Attorney, Fifth Judicial Circuit.
