Update: Florida Medical Examiners Commission Hurricane Ian deaths

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida District Medical Examiners report hurricane deaths to the Medical Examiners Commission (MEC) following examinations and confirming the death is storm-related. FDLE staffs the Florida Medical Examiners Commission.
 
There are 144 deaths attributed to Hurricane Ian confirmed by the MEC from the counties below.

Hardee – 4
Hendry – 2
Hillsborough – 5
Lake – 1
Lee – 67
Manatee – 5
Martin – 1
Miami-Dade – 1
Monroe – 7
Orange – 3
Osceola – 5

St. Lucie – 1
Volusia – 7
