FDLE arrests Largo man for possession of child sexual abuse material

PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. – FDLE agents arrested Joseph Carollo, 57, of Largo, today for 10 counts of possession of child sexual abuse material in violation of Florida Statute 827.071(5)(a), a third-degree felony.
 
The investigation began based on information that an online address was being used to share files depicting child sexual abuse. FDLE agents, with the assistance of the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, executed a search warrant at Carollo’s residence today. Agents determined that Carollo was the user of the email account used to share the child sexual abuse material, seizing his electronic devices and taking him into custody. Additional charges are dependent upon completion of forensic exams.
 
Carollo was booked into the Pinellas County Jail on a $10,000 bond. The case will be prosecuted by the Office of the State Attorney, Sixth Judicial Circuit.
