COCOA, Fla –FDLE agents today arrested Marco Antonio Melendez-Recinos, 35, of 124 Grimes Street, Cocoa for three counts of dealing in stolen property, one count of conspiracy to deal in stolen property and one count of unlawful use of a two-way communication device. Anny Rosario, 33, of 100 Pacific Place, Merritt Island was also arrested for five counts of dealing in stolen property, one count conspiracy to deal in stolen property and one count of unlawful use of a two-way communication device.
Information was received that different “mom and pop” convenience stores, The A.R. Cocoa Meat Market LLC located at 805 Fiske Boulevard, Cocoa and the Mobil Mart located at 1500 Harrison Avenue, Titusville were purchasing stolen merchandise from individuals that would steal it from major retail stores. FDLE, along with the Cocoa Police Department and investigators from Sam’s Wholesale Club, Target, Lowes, Walgreens, CVS and Winn Dixie, began the investigation in May 2019.
The stolen merchandise included health and beauty products, cartons of cigarettes, electronic items including large screen television sets, Playstation 4 operating systems, and laptop computers. These items were presented as stolen property and sold to the business owners and/or employees at a far reduced price. The merchandise was either sold out of the their business or purchased for personal use.
Melendez-Recinos and Rosario were booked into the Brevard County Jail. The Office of the State Attorney, 18th Judicial Circuit, will prosecute this case.
