FDLE arrests sex offender on drug charges

ORLANDO, Fla. – In a joint investigation with the Melbourne Police Department, Rockledge Police Department and Federal Bureau of Investigation, FDLE agents recently arrested Harold Dale Shirey, Jr., 39, of 2268 Woodbury Road, Melbourne. He faces four counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, deliver or manufacture; four counts possession of a controlled substance; and four counts of unlawful use of a two-way device.

Shirey is a registered sex offender.

In February, FDLE agents received information that Shirey was selling drugs from his Woodbury Road home. During the investigation, agents discovered that Shirey met with potential buyers in order to sell them heroin and fentanyl. Shirey was taken to the Brevard County Jail on a $220,000 bond. The State Attorney’s Office, 18th Judicial Circuit, will prosecute the case.
