German citizen arrested in Orlando on child pornography charges

ORLANDO, Fla. – Agents with the Orlando Cyber Crime Task Force of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement arrested Gurkan Akpinar, 43, a German citizen living in Orlando, today on 12 counts of possession of child pornography.
 
Akpinar was arrested at 6965 Piazza Grande Ave., Suite 201, Orlando, where a search warrant was executed.
 
During an on-scene forensic examination, agents found at least 12 files depicting child pornography on digital devices. The devices were seized for additional forensic analysis. The children in the files were under the age of 18 based on their appearance.
 
Akpinar was taken to the Orange County Jail with a no-bond status. The case will be prosecuted by the State Attorney’s Office, 9th Judicial Circuit.
