FDLE Orlando investigation results in sexual battery arrest

 

DALTON, Ga. –Following a Florida Department of Law Enforcement investigation, Jerald Thomas Jaynes, 52, 2099 Freeport Road, Dalton, Georgia was arrested yesterday by Whitfield County (Georgia) Sheriff’s Office on ten counts of capital sexual battery.  In September 2015, Jaynes told Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office deputies that he had sexual contact with several juvenile victims in the Orlando area in the 1990’s. 
 
The Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office contacted FDLE to investigate. FDLE agents identified two female victims still living in Central Florida who were between the ages of 8 and 11 when the crimes occurred. 
 
Jaynes was arrested yesterday afternoon and charged with capital sexual battery on a child under 12.  He was booked into the Whitfield County Jail and is being held without bond.  He is awaiting extradition to Florida. 
 
The investigation will be prosecuted by the Office of the State Attorney, 9th Judicial Circuit.
