Jessica Cary appointed FDLE public information officer

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Florida Department of Law Enforcement Commissioner Rick Swearingen is pleased to announce the appointment of Jessica Cary to the position of communications coordinator in FDLE’s Office of External Affairs. In this role, Ms. Cary will serve as FDLE spokesperson and will be responsible for coordinating news releases, interviews, press conferences and internal communications.
 
Ms. Cary has over 20 years of communications experience working in both private and public sectors, most recently serving as the development director for Second Harvest of the Big Bend.  She was also the communications director for the Florida Department of Corrections and membership and media relations coordinator for the Florida Association of Community Health Centers and has managed a small business.   
 
She holds a B.A. degree in English from Florida State University and received her APR designation for being accredited in public relations by the Florida Public Relations Association.
